LG V30 camera to have f/1.6 aperture, crystal clear lens

LG's V30 will be the first phone with an f/1.6 lens
LG has officially confirmed that its next flagship handset, the LG V30, will include the world's largest aperture and clearest lens ever to be featured in a smartphone. For the LG V30, however, it is pulling all the stops by giving it a camera with the largest aperture and the clearest glass lens available in the smartphone market to date.
The leak shows a device identical to the G6 with an OLED full screen display and dual rear cameras.
The new camera will allow for brighter and more lifelike photos and videos, the company said.
"LG boasts an unrivalled heritage in smartphone photography and our decision to adopt glass in the V30 camera is specifically because this has traditionally been the realm of DSLRs", according to LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company president Juno Cho. The glass lens, compared with a conventional plastic lens, has a high transmittance rate of visible light for expression of detail that is level with +DSLR cameras, the company added. And while it's arguable that LG has been able to deliver on those promises to a certain degree, it has easily been overshadowed by Samsung, Google, and now even HTC.
LG has been providing various teasers on the new flagship smartphone, in an apparent bid to bolster consumers' attention as the device is set to play a decisive role in revitalizing its faltering earnings. It holds major features including Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization, and Laser Auto Focus.
It also said the 6-inch V30 will actually feel smaller in one's hands compared to the 5.7-inch LG V20 as it reduced the bezels at the top and bottom by 20 percent and 50 percent, respectively.
