Essentially, the protest at the Unity Fountain is against Buhari staying for over 90 days in London, United Kingdom on a medical vacation.

The protesters had demanded that Buhari either resume work immediately or resign.
She said: "Buhari is not greater than Nigeria and he can not continue to hold the nation to ransom because he is ill".
He said, "The decisions we take today will affect this country". It is not as if we hate him, we love him and we pray for his quick recovery. It is not about a person, it is about the country; 'our mumu don do'.
Yesterday, protesters had been tear gassed by security operatives who claimed the protest had been hijacked by the wrong crowd.
A report also has it that the musician collapsed after inhalling the tear gas shot at him and other protesters. Initially, they tried to stop us from going further.
"The Police personnel intervened at the point that the concerned Nigerians Group lost control of the crowd and prevented miscreants, hoodlums and other criminal elements from hijacking the protest to cause mayhem and chaos".
Abdullahi said the protest was meant to force the president to resign or terminate his medical vacation.
"It is pertinent to state here that the FCT Police command is fully aware and recognizes the constitutional rights of every citizen including Our Mumu Dondo group to assemble and move freely in any part of the Federal Capital Territory, but the command will not allow any protest under any guise to turn violent and jeopardise the prevailing peace, law and order now being enjoyed in the FCT".

Meanwhile, the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) has accused northern governors and South West politicians of being responsible for the protest against Buhari.

Keyamo, who described the protest as unpopular among Nigerians said protesters should have campaigned for the return and prosecution of looters and not an ill-President.
"Let it be known that we are not unmindful of what is happening in Nigeria. As a group, we are giving them seven days to call their attack dogs to order or we will have no option than to expose them".
