His body was found near railway tracks here with a suicide note indicating he was upset due to family issues.

At 6:30 PM, we got to know through his friends that IAS officer Mukesh Pandey may commit suicide.

As per reports, in the suicide note, Pandey had written, "I am committing suicide in district centre area of Janakpuri, west Delhi near Hotel Piccadilly by jumping off the 10th floor of the building. Plz forgive me!", he wrote. "We immediately reached at the district centre but found nothing", said a police officer.

At 9.40pm, GRP constable Mahesh Chand found the 32year-old IAS officer's body lying by the tracks. However, while checking a few more CCTV footages, it was found that he was going toward a metro station.

Ghaziabad GRP SHO Somvir Singh said that it seemed that the IAS officer committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. Police did not reveal all the contents of the note but said it pointed to Pandey being depressed as a result of marital discord.The other note was found on his body. Police recovered his identity cards and a suicide note from the site. "ADM Ghaziabad is conducting the inquest and post-mortem is being done by a medical board of three doctors". He was a 2012 batch IAS officer and was recently posted as a DM in Buxar. I am committing suicide of my own volition. "Whoever finds this video, please inform my parents, wife, in-laws and relatives." he said. At around nine o'clock in the night, they received news of Mukesh's body being recovered from a railway track in Ghaziabad. "We have informed his family and forensic teams have reached the spot".

In the five-minute long video, believed to be shot by himself using a mobile phone camera at the Circuit House in Buxar, Pandey, said that he was fed up of his life because of the growing tension between his wife and his mother. He had handed over all charges to the deputy development commissioner (DDC) Mobin Ali Ansari. But from Patna he flew to Delhi.

He was posted as the District Magistrate in the Buxar district of Bihar.

He was in Delhi because of his uncle's illness. His first positing was as subdivisional officer, Balia, in Bihars Begusarai district. "I am an introvert and peace loving person", he said.

In it, he mentioned that even his wife loved him and vice-versa, they had different personalities and were like "chalk and cheese".

Pandey was a meritorious student and an "honest" cadre as his fellow batchmates pointed out.

Deceased Pandey studied at Faculty Higher Secondary School in North Guwahati upto Class X and then did his Higher Secondary from Maria's Public School at Birkuchi in the city.He did his BA (Hons) in English from Cotton College. He had secured the 14th All-India rank.
