It's difficult to replace Lukaku, Everton Boss Koeman says
Everton have gone through a massive rebuilding project under Ronald Koeman this summer.
As it was, referee Craig Pawson allowed the controversial strike to stand after former striker Romelu Lukaku was deemed not to have been interfering with play, and the two sides held out for a point apiece after a tetchy second 45 minutes.
The Everton fans have been brilliant since the news of my return was announced. His side face Stoke on Saturday with the Dutch coach welcoming greater prospects, but with a warning his rebuilding process is incomplete.
"Like everybody knows we are still working on some targets and that is hard, but if we can do the business we want I think we are stronger than last season".
Everton has spent a lot of money in the transfer window and they will look to so well this season as a result of it.
Winger Yannick Bolasie (knee) and defenders Seamus Coleman (broken leg) and Ramiro Funes Mori (knee) will miss the start of the campaign with longer-term problems.
The pair that comes out on top will certainly have a big say in where a potential victory lies, but there will be only so much either duo can do if neither team's forward lines produce the goods where it matters.
"They are notoriously slow starters though, and I don't see that changing". It is always better to start at home than away.
The striker looks to have the physicality and keen eye for goal to thrive in the Premier League, but does he have the right mentality?
Having said that I'm backing them to kick the season off with a win against a Stoke side I fear will struggle having lost Marko Arnautovic to West Ham.
After moving back to Everton this summer, the chance to pull on the Blue shirt again and play at Goodison Park in the Premier League, in front of my family and friends, really excites me, which is why our opening game against Stoke can not come soon enough.
Everton will hope to get off to a good start at home as they seek to finally qualify for the Champions League.
Stoke are embarking on their 10th consecutive Premier League season.
