Google Camera version 4.4 update adds double-tap to zoom, new buttons

As noted by Google, the latest version is created to work on recent Nexus and Pixel devices running Android 7.1.1 and above.

When Android O begins its official rollout, Pixel And Nexus devices will be the first in line to get the update. Google has been working hard to refine the underlying operating system for improved battery efficiency and overall ease of use, and the new Android O feature set reflects this.

Information on the delayed release date of Android O was shared by Android Police managing editor David Ruddock on Twitter.

After going through four developer previews, Android O may be just days away from an official release. Also, any guesses for the name?

Tinkerers using the Raspberry Pi 3 will also find that Android Things Dev Preview 5 also now supports OpenGL ES 2.0 and WebView, a much requested feature. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 is coming in September, so Google may be looking to steal some of Apple's thunder with a splashy Android O name unveiling event. For non-Google devices though, Android O is expected to be released in September with Nokia phones on the front line. There was also no clue or hint regarding the correlation between the upcoming solar eclipse and the name of Android O.

"The Android O update for Pixel has been pushed back (surprise)".

As for other users, it's likely that the final build of Android O might be made more widely available isome time in October or November. The rumor mill has claimed that it may either arrive as Android Oreo or Oatmeal Cookie.

Of course unless you have a Pixel or Nexus phone you're unlikely to see Android O for a good while yet - get in touch with your Android phone manufacturer to see if and when you can expect to see the latest version of the mobile OS on your own handset.
