Eric Bellquist left proved he was abroad at the time of the alleged attack

A man arrested on suspicion of pushing a woman in front of a bus while jogging across a London bridge has been released without charge and eliminated from a police investigation.

Now, a partner at a high-profile U.K private equity firm has been associated with the incident.

But yesterday his lawyers revealed he has irrefutable proof that he was in the United States at the time of the incident.

The 41-year-old had been detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after the woman was shoved into the road on Putney Bridge in southwest London in May of this year.

He categorically denies being the individual concerned and has irrefutable proof that he was in the United States at the time of the incident.

Police said in a statement: "Inquiries continue to identity the jogger who pushed the female pedestrian into the road". According to CBS News, the woman encountered the man again about 15 minutes later, after people had rushed to check on her wellbeing. Duncan Lewis solicitors issued a statement on Twitter claiming Bellquist was not in Britain when the attack happened in May.

Bellquist is suspected of pushing a 33-year-old woman to the ground on Putney Bridge, forcing an oncoming bus to swerve and barely miss crushing the victim. The woman was only saved by the quick-thinking action of a #Bus Driver, whose vehicle could easily have struck her. When she tried to get his attention, he ignored her.

Police said the victim suffered minor injuries and passengers on the bus came to her aid.
