Army may soon get robots to help tackle militants, insurgents

Indian Army will soon deploy robots to curb terror in Jammu and Kashmir

However, there is no confirmation about the number of militants killed in the operation.

One terrorist was killed in an ongoing encounter with militants in Shopian district in south Kashmir.

They said that injured were shifted to SDH hospital Yaripora and District Hospital Kulgam.

Police said following specific information about the presence of a group of militants, security forces including army's Rashtriya Rifles, state police and Central Reserve Police Force surrounded Awneera village in Shopian.

At least two security personnel were injured in a terrorist attack on police search party in Bandipora on Sunday morning.




Two militants are still holed up in the area, The Times of India reported.

He said as the security forces were conducting searches, the terrorists opened firing on them which was retaliated by the law enforcement personnel, triggering a gunfight.

The official further said that the cordon and search operation was still going on in the area.

Meanwhile, clashes between security forces and locals have also errupted near the encounter site.
