Jamaican team hold Usain Bolt's fate in their hands

Gatlin spoils Bolt's farewell in 100m with remarkable gold

Bolt said: 'There are no words to describe how I am feeling. The contrast was also striking between the walkabout that had the right Bolt, and the output nearly on the sly and under the whistles of Gatlin, which has put an end to an unbeaten 9 years of Jamaican big competition.

Bolt admitted he was disappointed but would never change his idea of retiring because the new life ahead is more inviting.

At least that's the line runners tell each other: "I am only running against myself". I did it for the fans. "I don't think it gets any worse than that", he said, referring to the problems in Russian Federation.

However, if you're not one of the Trump family, going weak at the knees when Putin takes his shirt off, it's easy to feel pleased about the stony faced Russian regime being embarrassed by their blanket ban. It felt like it was there but the reason I lost because I couldn't get it.

"It nearly looks like I am winning!" I get so much support from the crowd. "I've done all I can do for my sport and for myself".

It's a disappointing ending expected to be the final race for the greatest sprinter ever, which - nooooooooooo don't leave us Usain.

Speaking to PTI on the sidelines of the ongoing World Athletics Championships, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) chief said tackling doping should remain the sole prerogative of sports bodies.

An Olympics-lite, the World Athletics Championships have rekindled the joy of "Super Saturday" in the British public, who have flocked in their droves to the London Stadium to watch the likes of Bolt, Farah and Felix pound the track - in some cases for the last time.

Athletics' world governing body head Sebastian Coe lavished with praises for him.

Usain Bolt's finish line photos were nearly always the same. Bolt has been running on the IAAF "circuit" since 2001 when he ran in the IAAF World Youth Championships, but it wasn't until the 2008 Summer Olympics that the entire world learned about him.

"You can have the Friday-night-in-the-pub conversations about who is best footballer or tennis player, but there is no argument about this guy in sprinting".

If you read about Bolt's rise to prominence from his early days playing in the streets and primary school playground in Sherwood Content, you would learn that he has always stood out among his peers as physically superior. "Off the last hurdle I gave everything and threw myself for a dip just in case". Good thing Bolt found his calling in the tracks because his feet were born to race.

Eighty meters in, Ta Lou appeared to be the woman who would engineer a surprise win, but Bowie's breakneck lunge at the line, as she and Ta Lou crossed simultaneously-with Bowie tumbling onto the track-ultimately put her atop of the podium.

Think of those athletes who have done everything clean, but missed out.

American athletes have taken front and center at these Championships already and, watching the operations of the US Team, it is little wonder why.

Perhaps more foreboding, though, is that the IOC has already stripped Bolt of one of his nine Olympic gold medals. "It is brilliant", Bolt said after the race.
