Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed his recent vehicle crash in Amsterdam, which resulted in his suffering a broken rib, could have resulted in his death had he not worn a seatbelt.
Following criticism for his decision to go to Amsterdam in the days building up to City's important fixture against Chelsea, Aguero has defended his actions saying players often go overseas on their days off.
However, the 29-year-old returned to training this week and insists he is ready to play, although he is unsure whether City boss Pep Guardiola will consider him for action against Stoke City on Saturday.
City chief executive Ferran Soriano has said he would "open the doors" to Messi if he ever chose to leave, but manager Pep Guardiola believes he will finish his career at Barca. The Argentine suffered the injury when the taxi he was travelling in veered off the road and collided with a post during a break in Amsterdam ahead of his global commitments with Argentina.
