On Friday the 13th, Flight 666 flies to HEL for last time
13 October 2017, 08:10 | Joann Bryant
Projected flightpath of the journey dubbed'flight 666 to hell ahead of takeoff this afternoon
The airline said the perceived unluckiness of the date, combined with the number 666 and the "HEL" destination, has not appeared to have any affect on passenger numbers for flights.
The Nordic airline chose to retire the flight number after its trip cheduled to depart on the 13th hour of October 13, 2017.
It still operates a regular flight from Singapore's Changi Airport to Helsinki, meaning you can still go to HEL via SIN.
"We are a growing airline and we are reorganising our flight numbers to make room for additional flight numbers to be used", said a spokesperson for Finnair. The Flight 666 will depart from the Danish capital at 1:20 pm and will arrive in Helsinki around 4 pm.
Some fun-loving Finns at Helsinki Airport weren't about to miss the opportunity to see Flight 666 off in style.
