Patriots QB Tom Brady should break career wins record against Jets

Within a minute, the five-time champion squashed any thought that he wouldn't be able to go in a game that's now a battle for first place in the AFC East.

"We have noticed Tom Brady holds on to the ball a little bit longer than he usually does", said defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who is still searching for his first sack of 2017. While this shouldn't affect him throwing the football, it does show that Brady is not 100 percent after all of the hits he has taken this season.

Brady's been a hit a ton this season.

Despite this being a home game for the Jets and having the same record as the Patriots, they are pretty sizeable underdogs.

One thing the Patriots can not do is allow the AC joint sprain to get worse due to another on-field beating.

The Jets defense is aware of that stat, and the unit sees an opportunity to disrupt the 40-year-old future Hall of Fame signal-caller when Gang Green faces the Patriots Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

What might be of more concern is the pace at which he is enduring sacks.

By comparison, in 16 regular season games last season, Patriots quarterbacks took just 24 sacks and were hit 73 times. Brady was hit six times and sacked three times in the game. "I think those guys (the offensive line) have done a great job, I really do". "But it's something that we're going to have to keep challenging ourselves".

Yet on Thursday, both the quarterback and the star tight end were back on the practice field - albeit in a limited capacity. "Certainly, if I play better, it will help all of us".

In addition to Brady, Rob Gronkowski (thigh) and cornerback Eric Rowe (groin) also did not participate in Wednesday's practice, along with tackle Nate Solder (non-injury related).
