Padmavati marks 'trilogy' of Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali
According to Rajput Organization representatives, the RaniPadmavati has been misrepresented in this film, due to which the Rajput Integration Foundation opposes the release of Padmavati. From sweet and loving Leela in the Tamil film Kaatru Veliyidai and the opinionated Bhoomi in the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Bhoomi to her next character in Padmavati, the actor reveals that she is always on a lookout for characters that motivate her to perform better.
"As a woman, I feel proud to be a part of this film, and to tell this story, which needs to be told".
Aditi adds that to perform her roles better, she takes inspiration from people she works with - be it actors, directors, or those who are associated with a particular project.
Padmavati is based on the legend of Rani Padmini, a Hindu Rajput queen, mentioned in Padmavat - an Avadhi language epic poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. Some Representatives of Rajput Ekta Foundation have demanded to ban, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film "Padmavati" to release in multiplexes of Gurujram. Deepika is convinced the movie will release, as scheduled, on December 1. Lately, the film is facing the protests in Bengaluru against its release. In the movie, she is essaying the title role which most of the actress did not get an opportunity to play in their career.
Interestingly, November has marked not just Deepika's 10 years in the film industry - her debut film Om Shanti Om was released on November 9 - but also November 15 is when Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela hit the screens four years ago.
"I didn't ever think that I could be a Bhansali heroine", said the daughter of badminton icon Prakash Padukone. She describes the whole evolution as a phenomenon. Many have come in support of the film, stating that a film should be taken as a film and nothing more.
Talking to media, earlier in the day, Deepika said she believes that the film will tide over the controversy and win a "bigger battle" for the industry.
While Bhansali and the cast have made statements saying that there is nothing objectionable in the movie, the protesters are not co-operating and want a ban on the movie. She says that you have to do things with the pure heart and with a pure intention. However, she says that right now it is important that they should focus on the movie "Padmavati". On this, Deepika replied that you never know there are possibilities that they both will be back together as a team for a movie.
