Ubisoft Delays Three Games
Far Cry 5's release date has been delayed, with the game no longer set to launch on February 27th, 2018. Far Cry 5 will be pushed back to March 27, 2018 (from February 27, 2018), while The Crew 2 will come out in a rather nebulous Fiscal 2018-2019 time frame and miss its March 16, 2018 date.
Ubisoft executive Christine Burgess-Quémard said in a statement it will be investing "additional development time" in those games, as it needed more time to develop the recently released Assassin's Creed's Origins. Today Ubisoft has officially revealed it will be delaying the release of not one, not two, but three different titles, in order to invest more time into each game's development.
Finally, a previously-disclosed but completely unannounced game, which has now been delayed from Fiscal Year 2018-2019 to the Fiscal 2019-2020 year (April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020).
She continued on to say, "As expected, this had a very positive impact on the game's quality and largely participated to its commercial success". Taking the extra time to work out any issues in Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2 is a smart business decision, as players are more likely to play a complete game free of bugs and other such frustrations.
Ubisoft has delayed three of its games, saying they got the idea from the positive response to Assassin's Creed Origin's year off. Less details about The Crew 2 have been released, but we can expect the ability to race cars, boats, and airplanes - switching between them at will during the same game session. (Additional information is specified in the most recent Ubisoft Registration Document filed on July 21, 2017 with the French Financial Markets Authority (l'Autorité des Marchés Financiers)).
