At least six people were hurt when a car ended up on a sidewalk after crashing into two other vehicles in Lower Manhattan
AT LEAST six pedestrians were struck when a cab driver jumped the kerb in a busy section of lower Manhattan. The driver remained at the scene, police said, adding that one of the victims may have been riding a bicycle. Three more people were hurt when the vehicle went up on the sidewalk.
The crash happened about 1:20 p.m.at Liberty Street and Broadway, near Zucotti Park, according to police. It jumped a curb during the crash. The three pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to preliminary reports from police. Vehicle traffic in the area was closed as police investigated the situation.
Police said it appears the crash was an accident, not an intentional act.
