Lawsuit Accuses Bryan Singer of Sexually Assaulting 17-Year-Old Boy
08 December 2017, 05:08 | Regina Holmes
In a shocking new development in the "every man in Hollywood is a creep" narrative of 2017, a lawsuit has been filed against X-Men director Bryan Singerfor allegedly raping a 17-year-old boy on a yacht and then threatening him into silence. Sanchez-Guzman claims Singer claims raped him in 2003, when he was 17. On that pretext, the suit alleges, Singer "lured Cesar into a room, shut the door and demanded that Cesar perform oral sex". Furthermore, the suit claims that Singer threatened Guzman, telling the young man that if he ever came forward the filmmaker would ruin his reputation. "These damages include, but are not limited to, emotional distress, mental anguish, physical and mental pain and suffering, a decrease in his ability to enjoy life, past and future medical expenses, attorneys' fees and costs, and other general and special damages, all in an amount to be determined at trial".
In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Washington state, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman says the incident happened in 2003 when he attended a party on a yacht in the Seattle area.
Singer later promised he would help Sanchez-Guzman in Hollywood if he didn't tell anyone what had happened, the suit says. Another man claimed in 2014 that Singer raped him when he was a teenager, but that lawsuit was later withdrawn by the accuser.
Singer denied the accusations to TMZ, who first reported the news.
A representative for Singer did not immediately respond to a request for comment from USA TODAY. Prior to his dismissal, Twentieth Century Fox reportedly received multiple complaints about Singer's unprofessional behaviour, with Jim Beach briefly quitting the film and star Rami Malek getting into a heated altercation with the director.
"The lawsuit was filed by the same lawyer who represented Michael Egan". He withdrew the lawsuit because he contradicted his previous statements. "Those claims were dismissed by Egan himself, and he later went to Federal prison for lying in a fraud case", the rep said.
