R. Kelly Burglars Empty ATL Homes ... Cops ID a Suspect
He has been charged with burglary, theft by taking and theft by deception.
Captain Byers said several valuables were taken from the home, including furniture, clothing, and television sets.
Three men caught leaving one of the houses in a van were brought in for questioning.
"She found that the place had literally been ransacked", Byers said.
The maid told police that the people who lived there were always gone and she was directed to clean the home by a secretary. Investigators said they were able to tie the thefts to one of Kelly's associates named Alfonso Walker.
R. Kelly's team revealed to authorities that Alfonso Walker was merely a part-time employee.
One Snellville man who purchased items told Petchenik the situation has been a "nightmare" for him.
Georgia police announced on Wednesday that they identified a suspect who they say stole absolutely everything out of R. Kelly's two Atlanta homes while the singer was on tour, then probably sold the items off.
WSB-TV was first to report the news.
Walker was supposed to turn himself into police on December 5, but failed to do so. Police believe that Walker sold the singer's possessions.
"He would also like to thank all of his fans around the world for their love and support, as well as the community for being very cooperative", the spokesperson said".
