Amy Jayne Everett, known as Dolly, killed herself on January 3 "to escape the evil in this world", her father says.

Dolly's devastated family have worked hard to raise awareness into the issue after her death.

When she was just six years old, Amy Jayne Everett appeared in an ad for Akubra hats, which represent Australian outback life in the same way Stetson hats symbolize Texas.

She was a victim of cyber bullying, her family revealed.

"Dolly" Amy Jayne Everett was the former face of Akubra Hats.

The petition, addressed to prime minister Malcolm Turnbull, Apple, Google and Local Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry, has garnered almost 30,000 signatures.

"Dolly, you are loved and you will never be forgotten, " he wrote.

"From pain and loss, we must renew our commitment to say no to bullying", Turnbull wrote in a Facebook comment. "Dolly could be anyone's daughter, sister or friend".

Amy Everett, known as Dolly, died last week aged 14. The family has now started an online campaign to put an end to bullying.

The family shared a drawing by Dolly of a skinny figure bent over backwards with the words, "speak even if your voice shakes" in bold, which she'd completed before taking her own life on January 3.

"This powerful message tells the dark, scary place our handsome angel had traveled to", the family wrote.

"We don't want another family to go through what we are going through and our vision is to establish a trust called Dolly's Dream", Dolly's dad Tick Everett said.

Dolly's death has sparked both sadness and outrage among many families, including those from rural and regional Australia.

Thousands of sentiments and condolences pouring in on social media reveal shock and broken hearts all around Australia, and far beyond.

"Sort of rips your guts out when you get this sort of news, this bullying is that out of control now".

Everett has invited the people who harassed his "Doll" to her funeral on Friday to see what they have wrought.

"Please come to our service and witness the complete devastation you have created", he said, in part on social media.

Mourners have also been asked to wear blue, which was Dolly's favourite colour.

The father of a teenager who starred in advertisements for a well-known Australian hat brand and killed herself after being bullied online has vowed her life "will not be wasted" as a campaign against cyber bullying gains traction.
