Elaborating, he said a Special Investigation Team must be set up headed by a responsible top-ranking police officer and probe the corrupt BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, identify and take stringent action against them.

The way the firemen and the BMC ignored the safety norms is very serious, Prakash Wagh said.Two proprietors of the "1 Above" pub, Jigar Sanghavi and Kripesh Sanghavi, were put behind the bars late on Wednesday night in relation with the fire that claimed the lives of 14 people last month.

The three have been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and other offences under the Indian Penal Code. The police got information of the whereabouts about Sanghvi Brothers from the other accused arrested by the police, said Virendra Mishra, DCP, Zone 3.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shamshabad) P V Padmaja said the Mumbai police had sought their assistance to trace the couple.

Seeking their custody, the police said they wanted to question the owners of 1Above and Mojo Bistro together.

Kripesh and Jigar are likely to be presented in court today, while the third partner Abhijit Mankar is still missing. They have all been sent to police custody till January 17.

They were tracked with the active mobile numbers, revealed by Juhu hotelier Vishal Karia during police questioning.

Another co-owner of Mojo's Bistro, Yug Tulli, a Nagpur-based businessman, yesterday filed a pre-arrest bail application before a Mumbai sessions court.
