4 Actors Who've Said They Regret Working With Woody Allen

Mira Sorvino Writes 'I Believe You' in Open Letter to Dylan Farrow

Oscar victor Mira Sorvino has apologised to Woody Allen's daughter Dylan Farrow for working with the controversial director.

Farrow thanked Sorvino for the apology on Twitter, saying, "I am overwhelmed and my gratitude to you can not be expressed sufficiently in words". In a piece for the Huffington Post, Sorvino explained that she believes Dylan and stands by her "gratitude and solidarity".

Actress Mira Sorvino says she hopes the Me Too movement keeps its focus on sexual harassment and doesn't turn into a general women's rights movement.

Sorvino says that in the aftermath of Weinstein's outing as a sexual predator, and as a man who deliberately worked to derail her career, she reached out to Ronan Farrow. Her To Rome With Love costar Ellen Page, The Tick actor Griffin Newman and The Deuce actor David Krumholtz have also recently distanced themselves from the work they've done with Allen.

"I'm sorry, Dylan! I can't even imagine how you felt all se years while seeing how everyone - including myself and countless Hollywood personalities - praised again and again who you had accused of hurting you as a child, "Sorvino continues in missive".

The actress notes in letter that since teenager felt a great admiration for Allen: "It is hard to denounce your heroes, your benefactors, whom you admire and who you feel in debt for existence of your career".

The actress, who won an Oscar for starring in Allen's critically acclaimed 1995 film Mighty Aphrodite, has penned an open letter to Farrow for HuffPo. Now, in the NY Times interview, she told Bruni that she regretted working with Allen on the film, and that, "I will not work for him again". "I can't stand the idea that I or any other woman has suffered in their life multiple times", said Sorvino, who was the only woman on stage during the Condor session.

For Hollywood to affect real change, Farrow insisted that no sexual predator, no matter how the public sees him or her as a genius, should be spared. "I am so, so sorry!" She answered that she hadn't really had time to think about it (in four years), but later released a more thoughtful statement, saying "If I had known then what I know now, I would not have acted in the film". She also called out actresses including Kate Winslet, Blake Lively and Greta Gerwig for working with Allen despite her allegations and supporting him or deflecting questions whenever the issue has been brought up with them by members of the press. "Good for him that he goes, because if not, he has to meet me, and I will kill the motherf-er. This letter is attractive and I will carry your words with me", Farrow wrote.

Farrow publicly thanked Gerwig on Twitter, writing, "Greta, thank you for your voice".
