Mark Davis the owner of the Raiders has offered a stake in the team to Gruden in the past, said sources, and if that were to be offered again by Davis, Gruden's contract would need to be approved by the National Football League owners. Gruden was sacked after the 2008 season by the Glazer family, despite winning a Super Bowl for Tampa in his first year with the Bucs.
Gruden's own employer (ESPN) is behind the report, which makes this story seem legitimate. "We have to take our ownership as players and I think that's where we're at right now".
He now makes around $6.5 million a year as the color analyst on Monday Night Football along with recurring segments on ESPN such as "Gruden'sQB Camp along with NFL Draft and some college football coverage". "Jon Gruden is going to be the next coach of the Oakland Raiders".
"I guess I'll believe it when I see it", Condo said. "Zero. That's a nice segment that I saw, but no ownership, that's for sure". "When he knows, I think we'll all know, but I appreciate Adam [Schefter] and Chris [Mortensen's] confidence that I have a chance of getting that job - it's bad nice though", Gruden said.
It looks like the Raiders have found their new Las Vegas headquarters and practice facility. "He's one of the rare people that I think has been away from the game but he's been as involved in the game as anybody, where he kind of is getting exposure, the ins and outs". He coached the Buccaneers for six more seasons, but has been an announcer ever since. Gruden reportedly wanted to finish out his commitment to the network before leaving for a spot on the sideline.
Following a 30-10 loss to the Chargers on Sunday, the Oakland Raiders finished the 2017 season with 6-10 record, a major disappointment after going 12-4 in 2016.
Gruden began his head coaching career with the Raiders at 34. Gruden is talking about how the offense at Fresno State and Carr's playing style is different than that of his brother David, the No. 1 overall pick by the Houston Texans in 2002.
