Cindy Crawford appears in her"This is the Pepsi ad for Pepsi
The new commercial, which is teased below, is set to debut during Super Bowl LII on February 4. Now the brand is bringing back the supermodel to re-envision its famous campaign.
Cindy Crawford is heading back to the Super Bowl: The model has recreated her iconic 1992 Super Bowl ad for Pepsi, now featuring her 18-year-old son.
"To this day, people come up to me to talk about how much they loved my original Pepsi spot from '92", Crawford reflects on the TV spot in a statement to ET.
The ad marks the start of Pepsi's new global campaign "Pepsi Generations", which celebrates the soft drink brand's pop culture history spanning the course of 120 years. "I am proud to play a role in this iconic pop-culture phenom and excited for fans to see our new take".
More than two decades since Cindy Crawford made Pepsi the favorite soda for countless football fans, the 51-year-model will recreate the commercial that made her a part of pop culture history.
In that commercial, which aired during Super Bowl XXVI and introduced a new-look Pepsi, Crawford pulls up to a small town gas station in a red Lamborghini. The new spot is part of the company's "Pepsi Generation" campaign.
It's a big bet-brands pay roughly $5 million for a 60-second spot-to revive slumping sales for Pepsi. A couple of years ago it replaced the people with emojis on giant Pepsi bottles for its PepsiMoji campaign. It will also begin to promote the brand's decision to include retro packaging on all products, starting January 29.
Pepsi Stuff, the USA loyalty program first released in 1996, is making a comeback. Similar to the first Pepsi Stuff campaign, the promotion features classic Pepsi designs across a range of lifestyle premiums - such as vintage T-shirts, hats, LED signs, varsity jackets, coolers, bikes and more - that can be redeemed with Pepsi Points through PepsiStuff.com.
Pepsi will present a series of pop-up exhibits in the USA throughout the year featuring pop-culture milestones in Pepsi history.
Crawford, who is married to George Clooney's business partner Rande Gerber, is making plans to attend the Super Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family, as her father lives in the city.
"It's me being sexy and getting out of a vehicle, but with these little boys kind of looking", she said, explaining the Super Bowl spot.
