According to reports, that uncertainty over a top-four place, coupled with the sale of Philippe Coutinho, has urged Liverpool to consider bringing Keita to the club earlier than initially agreed by forking out a further £18m.

RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita did not celebrate after scoring the opening goal in Saturday's Bundesliga clash against Schalke which suggests his Liverpool switch could be imminent.

Despite Leipzig publicly insisting Keita will not be allowed to leave early, reports that the Bundesliga club are more open to the idea behind closed doors.

But Leipzig do not want to lose Keita this month as they still remain in a battle to secure Champions League qualification for next campaign and find themselves in the round-of-32 of this season's Europa League. "We don't have a reason to sell before the summer".

Will we see the Guinean touch down in the Premier League before the end of the month, though? "There is nothing more to say".

After netting his third goal in the league this season, Keita barely broke a smile and, in the process, prompted Liverpool fans to believe his head was already at Anfield.

"Neither the player has told us that he wants to change, nor is there an offer from Liverpool", Rangnick told Sky Deutschland.

He might have got another for a foul on Max Meyer before Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuettl chose to take him off with just over 20 minutes remaining.

Liverpool are also reportedly interested in youngster, who has impressed in the Championship for Norwich City this season.
