Report: LG will launch LG V30s with AI-capabilities at MWC 2018

Possible pricing

LG, too, is believed to be focusing on camera technology at MWC 2018, but in a very different way. The company planned variants of many of its current smartphones. Early reports suggested that this phone would be called V30+α or the V30 Alpha, but ETNews, a Korean news source, points to the phone being called the LG V30S. We've seen a lot of new colors, but now, we're hearing that the LG V30 will be getting a new variant with special features at MWC...

The major difference that will set the LG V30s apart from the V30 and V30+ is said to be the LG Lens feature. So this is what LG Electronics will introduce at the Mobile World Congress later this month at Barcelona, Spain. A smart camera feature is certainly nice, but it's hard to see how this will help LG compete against the dominant forces of Samsung or the home-team advantage of Google's Pixel phones in the long run, even if it does work well (which is by no means guaranteed). If a massive amount of onboard storage is important to you, the V30S will be music to your ears. However, the LG V30s will have an internal storage space of 256GB, but the other hardware specifications would remain the same.

LG has also launched the LG V30 Signature Edition phone in Korean which was priced at $2,000 with the same, 256GB of Storage Memory. But it's unclear whether LG will be making other changes - like, say, upgrading the processor to this year's Snapdragon 845 model. As per the news, the company will unveil this phone at Mobile World Congress and would make it available for purchase from Korea on March 9. It'll be LG's first real push to use computational photography and AI in its devices, and the company is presumably hoping it goes down better than Samsung's Bixby did. Also, the feature supports foreign language translation.
