The update has now been rolled out only in Germany region but it is expected to roll out in other countries in future as well. It includes features like a new keyboard, improvements to Bixby, color lens for the display, and more. According to the update, Oreo update for beta users comes with a file size of 487MB. From the report via SamMobile, the Oreo rollout has started with the firmware version G955XXU1CRAP for Galaxy S8+ in Germany.

Samsung has kept the 3.5mm port on both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy Note 8 a year ago, but many others in the smartphone market - namely Google, Huawei, and Apple - have made a decision to do away with it. To avoid getting scratches on the user's Samsung phone, there also appears to be a rubber padding on the other end of the accessory.

The update is now rolling out to those users which have earlier enrolled themselves in beta program and users in Germany as well, with the version SM-G955XXU1CRAP.

Despite this being the first time we've had solid indication that Samsung would be keeping the headphone jack, the reveal today centres more around the revised design of its DeX Pad. We've heard rumors about it, but this is the first visual confirmation that the Galaxy S9 has it. Like all other software updates, the over-the-air (OTA) release of the Oreo update will be gradual, so don't get impatient if the update notification doesn't pop up on your phone. Samsung Experience is essentially the new name for the company's earlier UI called TouchWiz.




It's unclear when the Galaxy S8 Oreo kernel sources for the Snapdragon-powered models of these devices will be offered.

Back in January, Samsung trademarked for the DeX Pad and these renders those have been leaked now are in line with the description of the trademark. The company has also improved the security feature for Samsung Pay.
