US picks Nathan Chen for team event short program in PyeongChang
It resumes Sunday with ice dance and women's short programs, after which the top five nations will advance to free skates in each of the disciplines.
Duhamel and Radford scored 76.57 points in their program set to "With or Without You" to finish behind only Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, whose season-best 80.92 dazzled a crowd that included a contingent of Russian fans wearing bright red shirts that spelled out "Russia In My Heart".
"We're at the Olympic Games and we'll do six programs if we need to", said her partner and husband, Knierim regarding their busy competition schedule. But pretty much Chan - who's parted with too many coaches to count - is doing this on his own.
Nathan Chen of the United States falls during his short program Friday on the opening night of the team figure skating competition at Gangneung Ice Arena. "You would think everyone at the Olympics is ready to fire".
"It is my first time coming to the Olympics and I thought I would be very anxious, but I wasn't as anxious as I thought, and I'm satisfied", said Uno.
Both Nathan Chen and the U.S. Women's Hockey team have a lot to look forward to in PyeongChang. His only bobble came on his opening quad flip, but he breezed through a big quad toe loop-triple toe loop combination and easily landed his triple axel.
The 21-year-old Yan shook his head to questions in the mixed zone, and the twice Olympian was obviously disappointed with his two falling-downs onto the rink after triple Triple Axel and quad toeloop jumps, which cost him two points. He managed just 74.36 points and fell in behind Korean and Chinese skaters from the first flight.
Patrick Chan fell on both of his quads but rallied in the back half of his program. He popped a required jump and went arse-over-teakettle on his triple Axel. "When we first got her on ice, we focused on the technical component of the sport, learning to use her hips more instead of relying mostly on quad strength", he says.
"It's all about percentages and how I feel", he explained. All the spins were still good quality, fast, footwork was clean. And to be able to compete more times at the Olympics, I'm definitely not going to argue against it.
He got off the ice and was met by a wall of Canadian smiling faces, the beauty of the team event on full display. "I just love the team aspect of it". But they were all so supportive.
The stats don't lie and neither do the scores.Team Canada has picked the best figure skaters in the country to represent them.
"This is the first time and I like it that we keep writing history", he added.
Duhamel and Radford, two-time world champions, had an easier time of it, with an 8:50 practice and competition that launched after the men were done. They must stay close to one another and are not allowed to be apart for more than five seconds.
"He's always joking with me - 'Hey, are you going to let me do the long program?' I'm, like, hmm, we'll see".
They would be right.
For a minority group that hasn't had the highest visibility in American mainstream pop culture or sports world, their selection to the USA team elicited a joyous response on the blog, Angry Asian Man: "Look at all these All-American skaters going to the Olympics". "KC showed up to the Milwaukee training center and surprised everyone by making the team", says Parra. "There is just a great energy building around the entire team". I lived with Scott over a summer when he was just a little annoying 10-year-old boy.

In January, there were 2,000,449 A&E admissions recorded across England - but 294,000 weren't seen within the four hour limit. The Bournemouth and Christchurch Trust only had one patient who had to wait over twelve hours to be seen, and none at Poole.
