The Australian worldwide dived the right way to save Charlie Adams' spot kick after Dale Stephens was judged to have fouled Jese in the box.

The dramatic conclusion came after Jose Izquierdo - a scorer in the reverse fixture that finished 2-2 - had given Brighton a first-half lead with a goal that would not have looked out of place had Barcelona scored it.

Veteran Charlie Adam stepped up and saw his spot kicked brilliantly saved by Albion keeper Maty Ryan.

Albion remain 13th in the Premier League and Stoke stay third from bottom, three points behind Brighton after the draw.

The Seagulls switched off and nearly conceded an equaliser from the restart, as Badou Ndiaye fired a volley just wide of Maty Ryan's right hand post. It was one of the most breathless finishes of the season.

"All second half we were well on top and got a great goal after Brighton had done really well first half".

The hosts were handed a golden opportunity to gain three crucial points when Stephens was judged to have pushed substitute Jese in the box with one minute left on the clock.

Lewis Dunk then made a lunging challenge to prevent Adam from converting the rebound. Anthony Knockaert cleared the late effort off the line.

Paul Lambert played down the on-pitch altercation between Jese Rodriguez and Charlie Adam and instead hailed the desire of Stoke City players for wanting to win.
