Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich has agreed to become the Colts' head coach, a source informed of the situation told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

This comes after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the Colts brought Reich in for an interview after McDaniels elected to stay with the Patriots instead of taking the Indianapolis position.

A widely respected offensive mind, it goes without saying that Reich's hire is meant to appease injured franchise quarterback Andrew Luck.

The Colts were reportedly interested in Seahawks' OC Darrell Bevell and Raiders' QB coach Jake Peetz as their offensive coordinators. Manning has reportedly endorsed Reich as Colts head coach.

Reich is best known as the Bills' longtime backup quarterback behind Jim Kelly, but has climbed the ladder in the coaching world since his first job with the Colts in 2006. Reich emerged as the leader for the Colts job after McDaniels turned it down after last minute on Tuesday. DeFilippo replaces Pat Shurmur, who is now the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. He played quarterback in the National Football League from 1985 to 1998. Reich also served as the then San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator from 2014-15 before joining Doug Pederson's staff in the same role with Philadelphia back in 2016.

An official announcement on Reich's hiring should come soon.
