With form like that, he is likely to be pushing for a starting place in Ireland's upcoming games.

West Ham United-owned Aston Villa winger Robert Snodgrass has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side's win against Birmingham City at the weekend.

Aston Villa have risen to second in the Championship table thanks to a 2-0 derby win over Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon.

Albert Adomah put Villa in the lead before Hourihane added the second in the 81st minute.

Jedinak was the only change for Villa, who were searching for their seventh-straight league win - what would be their best streak in 28 years.

Birmingham would come to rue the miss because, on the hour mark, Grealish played a pass into the path of Adomah, who shifted the ball onto his right foot and rifled home from 18 yards.

The result leaves Steve Cotterill's side just two points above the Championship's relegation zone and their second tier status still remains firmly in the balance.

Only the woodwork kept Birmingham in the game when Ireland-qualified striker Scott Hogan worked his way along the edge of the penalty area before firing in a shot which hit the top of the crossbar.

In the last minute Ndoye was sent off for a second booking.
