It's going to be a while before fans get to binge-watch Season 3 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.

As we previously mentioned, while it's unclear how many seasons Stranger Things will ultimately produce, the core cast is signed to a six-year contract, although co-creators the Duffer Brothers have suggested it may have a shorter run.

The episode count for Stranger Things Season 3 becomes known which is in line with the previous two seasons. That's one episode less than the nine that made up season 2, but we imagine that a whole lot of action, chaos, trials and tribulations will be woven throughout each of them. We discovered that the Mind Flayer, whilst sent back to the Upside Down was still seeking out ultimate power.

Season 3 of Stranger Things will only eight episodes long, the same length as Season 1.

Production on the new season begins in mid-April, with plot details as yet unrevealed. "He'll be dealing with stuff, but he won't be at rock bottom the way we forced the awesome Noah Schnapp to play".

The Stranger Things Season 3 release date looks to be late 2018 or early 2019. Last month, producer Shawn Levy confirmed that the upcoming season will feature "forces of evil that are new".

TVLine also reports that Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Sadie Sink, Dacre Montgomery, and Cara Buono will be back as season regulars.

The series is described as: When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one unusual little girl.
