"Don't listen to mean people", one wrote, while another noted "I learned to love my body the way it is, to love the fact that we all have different bodies, to care less if someone says I'm too thin and to stay healthy even if the circumstances make it hard". A number of people on Twitter noticed and criticized Hadid's fluctuating weight, prompting her to fire back at the social media users who are blasting her skinnier frame.

Hadid went on to explain that she's still trying to understand how this condition affects her body, and that, while she may not be at her own ideal weight, the important thing is that she's staying healthy.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid took to Twitter on Sunday during New York Fashion Week, but it wasn't for celebratory reasons.

As for how her body changed, she is saying that it's mostly because she is now taking the proper medication for her problem.

She has recently been on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, showing off a futuristic space girl look with bright pink hair, zipped up pink topped that exposed her torso and silver skirt.

"Over the last few years I've been properly medicated to help symptoms including those, as well as extreme fatigue, metabolism issues, body's ability to retain heat".

The model ended things with a call for people to be more positive on social media.

Gigi reminds everyone that you shouldn't judge someone's body type just because it's not the "beauty ideal", and that it's important as social media users to lift each other and drag people down.

She urged readers to "learn to have more empathy for others" and to realise that "you never really know the whole story".
