Winter Olympics 2018: South Korean figure skater Yura Min's wardrobe malfunction

10 2018 South Korean short track speed skater Lee Yu-bin answers a reporter's question during the team media day at Jincheon National Training Center in Jincheon North Chungcheong Province

Unfortunately for Yura Min, it didn't quite happen that way for her.

Min, an American citizen who trains at Novi Ice Arena in MI, suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she competed in the team event for South Korea in Pyeongchang on Sunday.

During her Olympics debut in PyeongChang, Min had a very unfortunate wardrobe malfunction after her costume came busting open in the back, threatening to fall right off and expose her breasts to the world.

Unfortunately, she and partner Alexander Gamelin came in ninth out of 10 teams. "I think especially with unification, this whole theme is just coming together, peacefully".

"I didn't stop. I went from the beginning to the end. In my head, I was thinking, 'Is it better to stop and fix it and get the deduction or keep going?'"

"This is my first Olympics, our first program and if my top were to come down, that would have been a disaster" she said.

"I didn't stop", Min said. "I only noticed it halfway through".

While competing in the figure skating team event, she only paused once while performing synchronized side-by-side spins, or twizzles, when her top began slipping forward off her shoulders. She had to stop and pull it back up and that cost us a bunch of points.

"We told the skaters to prepare for a version without the lyrics to avoid political controversy and to perform while we wait for the IOC's decision", a spokesman for the Korea Skating Union said. They're representing South Korea at these games as part of the host country's "special naturalization" program that has helped boost their numbers for the 2018 Games.
