"Anyone that goes against the Party's manifesto and agenda won't be tolerated", Said a Senior Party Leader.

The chief minister has sent a letter to Governor NN Vohra informing him that she had chose to remove Drabu, reported IANS. The event was organised by Kashmiri businessmen in which ambassadors from 110 countries were invited.

The National Conference was also quick to lambast the PDP over the statements made by Drabu.

Drabu's remark during a function in New Delhi that Kashmir "isn't a political issue" had earned him ire of the party, opposition, pro-freedom and trade bodies.

Separatist Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front leader Yasin Malik said Drabu's statement was aimed at distorting history.

"Don't see J&K as a conflict state and a political issue, it is a society which has social issues right now. Therefore you are advised to explain as to why statement detrimental to the party interests was made", said Veeri.

But the storm raised by Drabu's statement didn't subside. "These ministers, including Haseeb Drabu, are well read and know what they are talking about", Sagar said.

Since yesterday, pressure was mounting on Drabu, who played a key role in stitching an alliance with the BJP during Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's tenure earlier and again when Mehbooba Mufti became the chief minister, after newspapers published his remarks that people were barking up the wrong tree as the Kashmir issue was not a political one. After news of the minister's sacking broke, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said it would be "interesting to see who replaces him in the Finance Ministry".

Haseeb Drabu had triggered a controversy by claiming that the dispute in the state is "not a political issue".

Sagar further alleged that Drabu is being used by the BJP, the ruling alliance partner of PDP.

The JKLF Chairman said it is this hypocritical attitude Haseeb Drabu like educated people who advocated Freedom through their ideas especially write-ups and articles that are even now available on internet, which invoked thousands of young and old to join freedom struggle and sacrifice their lives for it.
