Vikings quarterback Case Keenum

According to Nicki Jhabvala, by way of the mean streets of Twitter, Denver had its eye on signing Case Keenum all along.

In case you didn't realize it, Keenum played at a very high level for the Vikings this past year, and it wasn't a case of the team carrying a bad quarterback on their backs.

While not all are sold on the idea of Kirk Cousins being a franchise quarterback, most experts admit that he's a far better option behind center than a guy like Keenum. It also speaks to just how impressed they apparently were with Keenum that they pulled the trigger on a deal so quickly.

Living in the midwest, I watch most if not all Vikings games every year. 9 News' Mike Klis updated the report this not long ago confirming that the two parties had agreed to two years, totaling $36M.

After spending the first four seasons mostly as a backup, Keenum had a career year with the Minnesota Vikings last season, helping them reach the NFC Championship game.

This was the kind of move the Broncos had to make to compete in 2018.

The Denver Broncos don't appear to be landing Kirk Cousins after all.

This will be fascinating to watch, as in all likelihood, the Broncos will supplement their QB position and signing of Keenum by drafting someone in the top five picks at the same position.
