HBOGame of Thrones season 8 Jaime Lannister could be one who meets their end
Those who have stuck with Game of Thrones for seven seasons will know that it is unlikely to end happily.
On the subject of the spinoffs (or "successor shows"), Orsi revealed that these shows have already been budgeted by the network. "$50 million (per season) would never fly for what we are trying to do. Then there was applause that lasted 15 minutes". HBO is serving as showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff's personal Iron Bank for the final six episodes, but the network is also planning on going big for the prequels.
HBO has found itself in a little bit of hot water ... or at least one of their executives has over some comments that were made recently about the Big Little Lies season 2 salaries for Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and the rest of the cast. "We are going big", Orsi said, according to THR.
While continuing the show through "three, four, five" spinoffs was teased - with the alternative being compared to "corporate malfeasance" - the main draw here was the show's eighth and final season finale.
The explosive panel continued as Orsi noted that the high costs of additional episodes of Big Little Lies, combined with a slew of potential Game of Thrones spin-offs, could result in financial difficulty if any of the planned Thrones spin-offs make it to series. "More money doesn't always equal better, but in some cases the scope of ideas do require it", he added.
"There is a conundrum if we do take off on one of these G'ame of Thrones" spin-offs, where do we start?" But Orsi said HBO is still the preferred choice for prestige offerings when compared to Amazon, Netflix, and other new competitors.
Let's start things off here by describing more of how we got to this point in the first place.
