The abduction of girls from Chibok caused global outrage and criticism of then president Goodluck Jonathan for his handling of the attack, contributing to his election defeat.

"There will be no rest till the last girl, whether from Chibok and Dapchi, is released".

The emailed statement also said Buhari thanked the US for assistance rendered in the fight against Boko Haram, noting that Nigerian forces are good but need assistance with training and equipment.

Boko Haram militants invaded Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School in Dapchi, Bursari local government area of Yobe on Monday, February 19, 2018, and abducted 110 schoolgirls. Some of the Chibok girls have been freed after what security sources say were ransom payments; around 100 are still being held. S was aiding Nigeria to defeat Boko Haram terrorists.

Only two weeks ago, Shuaibu Moni, one of the Boko Haram commanders released by the Buhari administration went back to Sambisa Forest and released a video threatening Nigeria.

"The Government, under my watch, will continue to maintain normalcy and ensure that incidents of this nature are stopped".
