'Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' trailer takes Potterheads back to Hogwarts

Fantastic Animals 2 : Dumbledore and Hogwarts back in the first trailer

The trailer for the next Wizarding World franchise installment takes fans on a brief trip back to Hogwarts. Those who are subscribed to the Daily Prophet were aware that Jude Law was to make a dashing entry as the younger version of Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.

The "Crimes of Grindelwald" trailer was the first to show Hogwarts as part of the "Fantastic Beasts" story, which centers around Newt Scamander, a "magizoologist" with a suitcase full of unusual creatures. The film did quite well at the box office earning a whopping $814M worldwide.

The David Yates film follows Dumbledore and Scamander, his former student, as they join forces to recapture an escaped Gellert Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp, who is on a mission to dominate all non-magical people with the help of his pureblood wizard followers. The new trailer shows Grindelwald held at wand-point in the end. Later in the trailer, he meets Newt on the roof of St. Paul's Cathedral in London and says: "I can't move against Grindelwald". The scene suggests that a war is brewing, with Newt being forced to pick a side. You can check out fans reactions to the film's trailer below.

While some said Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - which inspired the new movie series - takes place before Harry Potter's adventures, meaning the rule may not have been in place, other fans cited the author herself, who has said in that past that "the castle and grounds have always been protected with anti-apparition charms".

The characters from the first film return, Katherine Waterston returns as Tina, Dan Fogler as Jacob, Ezra Miller as Credence and Alison Sudol as Queenie.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will release November 16, 2018. Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner and Claudia Kim will be the new cast members for the sequel.

Needless to say, the trailer has magical glimpses of some of Newt Scamander's fantastic beasts and many of his adventures. Let us know in comments below.
