Katy Perry Gave an American Idol Contestant His First Kiss. He Has Mixed Feelings About It.

Katy Perry Ruined ‘American Idol’ Hopeful’s First Kiss “I Wanted It To Be Special”

During his audition, Glaze revealed that he hadn't yet had his first kiss because "I can't kiss a girl without being in a relationship", but Idol judge Katy Perry made a decision to change that when she invited him closer to plant a surprise smooch on him. "I was a tad bit uncomfortable", Benjamin, who ended up not moving on in the competition, said. He says singing in front of the "I Kissed A Girl" singer was a "surreal" experience that he can't really put into words. "I wanted my first kiss to be special". "I wanted it to be special".

Glaze kissed her on the cheek at first, but Perry pulled a swift one on him and kissed him on the lips. "I know a lot of guys would be like, 'Heck yeah!' But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately".

And, he said, hes still saving his real first kiss for his first relationship.

One recent audition is being touted as the main example; that of 19-year-old Benjamin Glaze from Oklahoma.

Glaze said he talked at length with his friends back home about the audition and the kiss. "Anyone else watching Idol feel like Katy Perry pressured that poor kid into letting her kiss him on the cheek and violated him by planting one on his lips?" After he forgot to make a smooching sound, Katy asked Benjamin for a second during which she turned her head at the last moment so that they kissed on the lips.

Benjamin went on to tell the Times that he's at least grateful that the unscripted kiss got him a little more screen time.

Do YOU think Katy crossed the line by kissing the contestant? The judges for this year's American Idol reboot are Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, and Katy Perry. So in that way, he said, Im glad she did it because its a great opportunity to get my music out.

Oh, that's right - Katy Perry stole the first kiss of someone. "They agreed with me that it didn't really count [as the first]".

"The way certain articles are worded is not done by me and my true intentions are not accurately represented in every article you read about the situation", wrote the suddenly Internet-famous Oklahoman.
