Cosby Set to Face Chief Accuser

Camera Icon Bill Cosby's lawyer has told a jury accuser Andrea Constand is a"con artist after a payout
Bill Cosby's lawyer launched a blistering courtroom attack on the comedian's accuser Tuesday, portraying her as a con artist whose goal was "money, money and lots more money".
The AP does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand and the other women have done.
Wearing a bright white jacket and sporting much shorter hair, Constand told the jury that Cosby gave her a pill he said would ease her allergies. She says Cosby assaulted her after she took a sip of white wine he had given her. "Gave me three blue pills and sexually violated me without my consent".
Cosby says his sexual encounter with Constand was consensual.
"I'm sure that's what many people would say", said Thomas, who insisted that she did not earn money from sharing her story and giving an interview. "He kept grabbing my breasts and humping my legs". I said, 'What did you give me? The sole accuser with the power to fell once-beloved entertainer Bill Cosby is expected to take the stand Friday in his sex-assault retrial.
Cosby's defense arguments were part of an aggressive attack on Constand's credibility and came a day after prosecutors said the former Temple University employee was drugged and assaulted by Cosby at his home in January 2004.
Cosby, 80, has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Spokesman Andrew Wyatt cited Cosby's defense attorney's opening statement Tuesday blasting his accuser.
Constand stiffed roommates on utility bills, racked up big credit card bills and operated a Ponzi scheme while running women's basketball operations at Temple, where Cosby was an alumnus and trustee, Mesereau said.
The women also could help prosecutors insulate Constand from the defense's contention that she is a "con artist" who preyed on Cosby's vulnerability after the 1997 murder of his son, Ennis, and then framed him to score a big payday via a $3.4 million civil settlement. Cosby did not admit any liability, wrongdoing or fault in the settlement.
Dickinson claimed she told the writer the "entire horrific" experience, but was told it "would never get past Cosby's legal team". What happened instead, Steele alleges, is that Constand was incapacitated and raped.
Supermodel Janice Dickinson is expected to testify that Cosby drugged and raped her in Nevada in the mid-80s, too. She testified she woke up naked in bed with the comedian, believing they'd had sex.
The fallout from accusations against Cosby, Bill O'Reilly, Harvey Weinstein, and more have advanced the conversation around how we think about the trauma of sexual misconduct, why women are often reluctant to report it, and why they may wait years to speak out.
"My shorts and shirts were off. They were folded neatly on this table with money on it", she testified. "So I took them". "I trusted that man". The first trial over her accusations ended last summer with a hung jury. But the retrial takes place in a world colored by the #MeToo movement and its reckoning with celebrities using their power to harass and assault women.
She testified that she got to know Cosby after he called her agent and said he wanted to meet and possibly mentor her as she looked to expand her career into singing and acting.
The actress, singer and dancer's activist group Femen, which got its start in Ukraine a decade ago, regularly stages topless protests against religious institutions, far-right politicians and other targets seen as oppressing women.
She told the court that Mr Cosby asked her to read a monologue of a character who was drunk, persuading her to drink white wine.
She alleged that after Cosby assaulted her he told her: "Now this is just between you and me".
Constand said she awoke between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.to find her bra up around her neck and her trousers half unzipped. So I had nothing against him in particular.

The Seahawks also signed Jason Myers in the offseason, but Janikowski will likely have the advantage going into training camp. The Raiders play the Seahawks in their preseason finale (either August 30 or 31) in Seattle and in London on October 14.
