A Florida mother is facing charges for letting her daughter smoke pot and meth after the 2-year-old child was tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, investigators said.

On April 12, Ecker was charged with child abuse.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office said authorities had been investigating Ecker since January 12 after someone reported that Ecker allowed her toddler to do drugs.

The sheriff's office says Ecker admitted to smoking marijuana as recently as the night before, but away from the child.

While being interviewed by detectives, Heinz admitted that she had a history of drug use, including heroin and opioid pills, having been at the Methadone Clinic in 2013, stopping sometime around a year ago.

Reports stated the police officials first searched Ecker's Crawfordville home January 19 and found several pipes that had marijuana and meth residue, grinders, a scale and a bag of weed in a basket that also held children's toys.

Shortly after that, Kaitlyn Ecker was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

A report noted that people "joked" about the toddler's ability to roll joints for the mother, while others claimed that Ecker forced her child to smoke meth from a pipe.

When investigators questioned Ecker she accepted to smoking marijuana and meth but denied doing so in front of her child. Police said that the toxicology revealed "chronic" use, meaning that the child consumed the drugs on "several times or on one or more occasions".

The same day, Ecker was arrested by authority of the arrest warrant and was booked into the Wakulla County Jail. Instead, Limpert "proceeded to place [the child] into their backyard pool to use the cold water to "shock" her", the police report said.

Ecker denied ownership of the glass pipes located in her bedroom, but admitted to smoking methamphetamine approximately four months before.

Authorities also reported finding a tube filled with crystals analysis later determined to be meth.

Ecker was arrested again on Thursday and charged with child abuse, lewd and lascivious battery and transmission of harmful material to a minor. As of now, it's not clear if Kaitlyn Ecker has an attorney or if she still has custody of the two-year-old.
