Ian Somerhalder Returning to TV in Netflix Vampire Series 'V-Wars'

Ian Somerhalder to Star in Netflix Vampire Drama Series 'V-Wars'
Now, Somerhalder is returning not as a Vampire in the V-Wars but as Dr. Luther Swann whose best friend Michael Fayne contracts a disease that turns him into a predator who lusts for other humans. As Swann watches Fayne become an underground leader of the vampires, he's forced to choose between his allegiance to his friend and, ya know, safety. The actor previously starred as an immortal in eight seasons of The CW's The Vampire Diaries.
Ian Somerhalder has locked down his next role after his hit television series The Vampire Diaries ended its run in 2017. The series is based on the IDW novel of the same name, by author Jonathan Maberry. Soon, more and more people are transformed, creating a divide in society: humans versus vampires. High Park's Eric Birnberg and Thomas Walden will exec produce alongside IDW Entertainment president David Ozer, IDW CEO Ted Adams and Marada Pictures' Games Gibb. William Laurin and Glenn Davis will act as showrunners while Brad Turner directs at least the pilot episode. More recently, he played a regular role on The CW's horror drama The Vampire Series.
Currently Somerhalder and his wife, actress Nikki Reed have a pod deal with Warner Bros TV to produce new content for the network under their production company Rare Bird Productions. He is repped by ICM Partners, Untitled Entertainment and Morris Yorn. You'd be wrong! He's now attached to star in new drama V-Wars.
