Philadelphia DA says Meek Mill should get a new trial sparking hopes for release

It stated that the rapper deserves another trial after it was revealed that Reginald Graham, the officer who arrested Mill in his 2007, is part of a "do not call" list that highlights corrupt police officers.

Mill's incarceration is getting a important cause celebre, with celebrities that provide their support and jail visits from New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney.

Among supporters in the crowd was Mill's 6-year-old son who Fox 29 Philadelphia quoted as saying, "I miss my dad very much".

Judge Genece Brinkley was met with swift backlash and even became the subject of an FBI investigation after allegations arose of her having personal motives for Mill's cruel sentencing.

Meek Mill wasn't present for the court hearing on Monday.
