The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested four persons, including 64-year-old Residents Welfare Association president, in connection with thrashing and assault on a Kashmiri family in south-east Delhi's Sidharth Extension area. DCP (south-east) Chinmoy Biswal confirmed that an FIR has been registered under sections of molestation, assault and outraging the modesty of a woman.

NDTV reported that a video clip on social media showed a wounded woman, with her back to the auto, screaming as she is thrashed with hockey sticks.

In a shocking incident, a mob brutally thrashed a woman on Thursday night, sending shockwaves among the residents of Sunlight Colony in southeast Delhi.

Ms Tripathi also alleged that the Kashmiri woman beat herself to inflict self-injuries and she snatched the stick from the woman to stop her.

The victims alleged that they were targeted because they were Kashmiris. I have a broken left hand and one of my guests who had come to visit us was also attacked. "It was a planned attack and the accused were carrying hockey sticks", one of the victims has said.

He had claimed that the accused were shouting slogans like "Kashmiri terrorists should be sent back".

The victim said that they were attacked a couple of times earlier as well and were living in fear in the locality for the last seven years.

"There are complaints from both sides".

The woman alleged "constant harassment" and mentioned that the victims have requested police protection.

Meanwhile, Area RWA president S N Pandey said, according to reports, the group was staying there a long time and no one ever interfered.

She further claimed that she along with the other residents were carrying sticks because of a dog menace, NDTV reported. We have informed the police about his involvement but they have not taken any action against him.
