Allan McGregor rejoins Rangers on two-year deal

Steven Gerrard secures second Rangers signing

After a five-year spell in the English Championship and Premier League with Hull City, as well as a one-year stint in Turkey with Besiktas, McGregor has came back to the club he made his name at as a youngster, and signed a tw0-year contract with the Gers.

Allan McGregor has officially returned to Rangers this afternoon - and the veteran goalkeeper looked absolutely delighted to return to Ibrox.

McGregor becomes Steven Gerrard's second signing since taking over as Rangers boss, following the capture of midfielder Scott Arfield from Burnley earlier this week. 'When the chance came, it was a no-brainer and I am buzzing to be back.

After he joined the exodus of big-name stars from the club in 2012, he spent a year with Besiktas in Turkey before joining Hull and racked up nearly 150 appearances for the Tigers. It does. I started training here when I was probably 12.

"Without being biased, he'll go on to be a top, top manager you know with his experience and just how he is as a person cool, calm, collected you know, he doesn't feel the pressure, he loves the pressure". I want to do my best, help other boys and try to get us back to where we belong. You need to win games, no matter who you're playing.

"Hopefully it will be a good partnership and I heard the coaching staff he is bringing are very good so that can only be a positive".

Gerrard said of McGregor: 'He is a vastly experienced goalkeeper who we feel can add to the options available to us now. If you keep doing that then we've seen before that is what wins you titles'.
