Samsung Galaxy J6 with Infinity Display to launch on May 21, sale from May 22

Samsung Galaxy J6 Release Date Announced

As expected, it doesnt have an Infinity Display (like the others do), instead it gets a 5.5” Super AMOLED with 720p resolution. The Galaxy J series phones will include the Galaxy J4 and the Galaxy J6.

Samsung has sent out invites for the launch of its Galaxy J6 in India on 21 May. An event has been scheduled in Mumbai to launch the new smartphone that will go on sale on May 22. Interested users can also register on the Samsung website to be notified of the Galaxy J6 launch. Now, the Chaebol has gone ahead an tweeted that the Galaxy J6 is coming soon as well. As you can see in the image above, the Galaxy J6 retail box shows the smartphone will carry a maximum retail price of Rs.14,990, while the Galaxy A6+ will have an MRP of Rs.28,000. "It's coming to take you #ToInfinityAndMore".

Samsung has so far only released a couple of truly affordable Android smartphones this year, focusing primarily on premium designs and features, including more than respectable mid-rangers with "Infinity" screens and dual rear-facing cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy A6 and the A6 Plus are mid-range devices and they are expected to be priced between Rs 20,000 - Rs 25,000. Despite running the modern Android 8.0 Oreo OS, this thing packs a pretty bad 2GB RAM and an outdated Exynos 7870 processor, which probably means the so-called J7 Aero won't be similar to the India-exclusive J7 Duo after all. Though not official, the FCC certification of the J6 did reveal that the device will run on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung's own Experience skin on top and will equip a 3,000mA battery.

With that being said, the Galaxy J6 also seems to have a flash on the front, and we hope that it will have a fingerprint scanner on its back, otherwise you will have to make do with Face Unlock if you are lazy enough to unlock the smartphone by using PIN/Pattern/Password.
