Position-by-position breakdown of Michigan hoops Part III — Power forward

There was just more rung on that ladder - the National Basketball Association - and it presented itself recently in the form of the Detroit Pistons' head coaching job.

John Beilein is staying in Ann Arbor and will be coaching the Michigan Wolverines "next season and in the years to come". Let's go hang some more banners at "THE GREATEST UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD", Beilein tweeted just after noon on Wednesday. A person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press earlier this month Beilein interviewed with the Detroit.

There is a strong chance that John Beilein, head coach of the MI basketball program, could be on his way to the NBA.

The Michigan Man was named as CBSSports.com's Coach of the Year after a tremendous 33-8 campaign, including a Big Ten Conference Tournament win. "But I would like. the Pistons (to) consider bringing in Isiah Thomas as their president of basketball operations". His team also reached the championship game in 2013.

"As a matter of fact we are (talking about that)", Beilein said. "And, maybe that's why I'm still coaching".
