Command and Conquer, the iconic PC RTS that popularised one of the most influential genres of the '90s, is now a mobile game named Command & Conquer Rivals. However, the series has been in a state of hibernation with the last official title in the franchise, Tiberium Alliances, released as a free online browser game back in 2012.
According to EA, Rivals will feature a tier system for rewards and equippable units similar to Clash Royale, but the details are still in the air.
The game is simple, players will send infantry and tanks to hold off major control zones to control missile launcher. Instead of throwing armies against each other's bases, the game has players fighting over three point-accumulating pads for control over nuclear missiles - launch two at your enemy, and you win.
Command & Conquer: Rivals is heading to iOS and Android. Android users can download and play a pre-alpha build of the game, which is called "Command and Conquer: Rivals", today. There will likely be different varieties of maps and game modes available as well. The Google Play Pre-Alpha test allows us to put the game in the hands of our players earlier. "We, the development team, are committed to delivering a fun, fair, and competitive experience for all players".
