He was my love, my protector, says girlfriend Asia Argento on Anthony Bourdain’s death
When celebrity chef Anthony Bourdainwas found dead in hotel room on Friday, eulogies came pouring in. "The guy speaks like a bullet train with all the facts on his palm, delivering what we need to know precisely from his passion for Malaysian heritage cuisine".
"His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller", CNN said in a statement. Parts Unknown got an award from MPAC (the Muslim Public Affairs Council) for its episode on Israel and Palestine.
But on Friday morning at breakfast, Mr. Bourdain again didn't show up.
The table and chairs used by the late chef Anthony Bourdain and former U.S. president Barack Obama are preserved in a glass box at the Bun Cha Huong Lien restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam.
"He was an exceptional human being, so inspiring and generous".
He continued: "I pray he is at peace from the bottom of my heart".
"Thoughts and love to all his family and close friends xxxxxxxxxxx". "I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine", she added. They sat on plastic stools in a family-run restaurant, eating bun cha, a dish special to Hanoi. "To make us a little less afraid of the unknown", Barack Obama tweeted.
Lotti plans to dine at the Chambard's restaurant, and "I will have a thought about him".
"Listen, I lived there for five years - nothing is done quickly", she said.
He told Indie Wire in an interview published June 3: "Look, anytime I can get work out of Asia - even random suggestions... that's a huge help to the show", he said. "He was quite a character". "You brought people together", another note said. But you know, I also don't have that many regrets either.
IN RECENT years, after a second divorce, Bourdain had an ongoing relationship with Asia Argento, the Italian filmmaker, artist and now vindicated accuser of ex-producer and serial rapist Harvey Weinstein. His death came just three days after fashion icon Kate Spade's death which was also by suicide. A signed copy of "Kitchen Confidential" sold for $499, and one of "Appetites" went for $490.
The celebrity chef took his own life in Strasbourg on Friday.
In that acclaimed book, Bourdain, who born in New York City and raised in Leonia, New Jersey, candidly described his personal struggles, including drug use that led to his dropping out of Vassar College.
Schroeder never met Anthony Bourdain until just four days before he died.
Bourdain also became a vocal advocate for Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian, who was imprisoned by Iranian officials for 544 days. According to her, Bourdain was giddy a week before his death in France. Weeks later, the couple was arrested.
Rather than celebrating the latest overpriced culinary fads that remain the exclusive purview of the global elite, he seemed more happy in his television shows to muse over a bowl of spicy noodles, home-cooked fare or grilled street meats after a night out on the town in one destination or another. "They are nobody's enemy".
