Neal Boyd, an opera singer who won NBC's "America's Got Talent" and dabbled in Missouri politics, died June 10 at his mother's house in Sikeston, Mo.

The TV star passed away at 6 pm on Sunday in his hometown of Sikeston, Missouri.

The county coroner told TMZ 'no autopsy will be done. It was already known that he had a health issue related to his heart.

Neal rose to fame on America's Got Talent, where he won over the public and judges with his operatic voice.

According to TMZ, in early 2017 Boyd blacked out while driving and got into an accident that left him and his mother badly injured. They'd been slowly recovering since then.

"It was a very, very, very bad wreck", Boyd told the Southeast Missourian in February. "I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me nearly unable to use that leg for now", he told the outlet in February.

One year following Boyd's AGT win - where he stunned audiences with performances of "Somewhere" from West Side Story and "Nessun Dorma" - Boyd released an album titled My American Dream, which debuted at number three on the Top Classical Albums chart.

"You never know what's going to happen next", he said. In addition to his music career, he ran for an empty seat in the Missouri House of Representatives in 2011.
