As game critics finally get their hands on the new Spider-Man game for PS4, Sony and Insomniac Games are giving gamers a new glimpse at how their web slinger moves and the villains that he'll be facing.
The pressure was certainly on Sony after it became increasingly apparent that most of the prior E3 conferences were, honestly, a bit on the soft side (if not flat-out disappointing). These are dire times in Marvel's New York City. Let's just make the best Spider-Man game.
From what we have seen in the trailer, there is a lot more on offer here than there was 12 months ago. We want to give them freedom. Unfortunately, as great as it is to be able to announce a big game two or three years in advance, especially when it's coming from an industry luminary like Hideo Kojima, that game is then hanging around for what seems like forever, dragged out every year for a little update.
While we're not sure if the Avengers themselves exist as NPCs or playable characters of any sort in the game itself, we can confirm at the very least that they are in the game in-universe and exist as entities within the game world.

The sixth member could be anyone, but frequent Sinister Six members not featured in the trailer include Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio and Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin.
