Images Breakfast? Nah IHOb is the International House of Burgers Move over Internat

Last week the International House of Pancakes announced that after 60 years, it's name is flipping to Ihob.

In a Twitter announcement, IHOb revealed its new logo and wrote, "Dear Internet, we abbreciate your batience".

The restaurant recently stated the they would be changing their name from IHOP to IHOB.

Until this morning, the most popular guesses of IHOb's "b" had been "breakfast" (per Observer's poll) and "bacon" (per IHOP's poll).

"In fact, you can get pancakes with your burger at the same time so you don't even have to choose", he said. IHOP isn't changing its name.

The "b" is for burger, and the temporary change is tied to a rollout of its new line of Ultimate Steakburgers, a line-up of seven sandwiches.

Steak-umm took a similar route, changing its name to Cake-umm because food brands are all pivoting now, apparently.

Other than the Twitter handle, IHOb didn't reveal details about its rebranding, including the cost or how it would affect more than 1,750 IHOP restaurants worldwide.

Steak n' Shake, which has been offering its signature Steakburgers since 1934, tweeted directly at IHOP (or IHOb, as they've rebranded their Twitter handle), saying, "A replica by definition can not be as good as the original".

"Not really afraid of the burgers from a place that decided pancakes were too hard", Wendy's said in another tweet. It then made a seriously introspective observation: "what is a burger if not a meat pancake between two other pancakes".

Legendary fried chicken purveyor Church's Chicken posted an Instagram photo that poked fun at the IHOP name change buzz.

The company, best known for their breakfast, has featured a limited burger selection on its menu, though the video seems to indicate that there will be a move to make burgers a more prominent menu item.

Don't worry, the change isn't permanent, according to the company.
